With focus on strengthening trust and cooperation between Law enforcement, Civil society, and communities to enhance the capacity in the area of Migration and Border Management.</p> </div> <div> <p> <strong>Required Qualifications and Experience</strong> </p> <p> <strong>Education</strong> </p> <ul> <li> <p>Master s degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice, Correction, Law Enforcement, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or;</p> </li> <li> <p>University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.<br> </p> </li> </ul> <p> <strong>Experience</strong> </p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience in the areas of Law enforcement and community and international policing and project management and implementation;</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience working with IOM and/or another UN agency is an advantage;</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience in the humanitarian and/or development field in an international setting; and,</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience in engaging with governmental representatives, police, civil society, and communities is highly desirable.<br> </p> </li> </ul> <p> <strong>Skills</strong> </p> <ul> <li> <p>A combination of police studies and qualifications and more than ten years law enforcement experience, with regard to International Police Relations, Operations and Police Capacity Building Programme Implementation in UN Missions;</p> </li> <li> <p>Knowledge of MS Office and Internet Explorer; </p> </li> <li> <p>Delivers on set objectives in hardship situations; </p> </li> <li> <p>Effectively coordinates actions with other implementing partners; </p> </li> <li> <p>Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, beneficiaries, and the broader community to advance country office or regional objective; and, </p> </li> <li> <p>Good computer skills (MS Office, Internet browsers).<br> </p> </li> </ul> <p> <strong>Languages</strong> </p> <p>For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).</p> <p>Working knowledge of Arabic and another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.</p> <p>Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.</p> <p> <strong>Required Competencies</strong> </p> <p>IOM s competency framework can be found at this link .
