Responsibilities The F-16 Engine Mechanic is responsible for Oversight/Training/Instructing the host nation on the inspection, maintenance, and repair of F-16 aircraft engines, with a strong focus on ensuring the engine’s optimal performance, reliability, and safety. This role requires in-depth knowledge of turbine engines, especially Pratt & Whitney or General Electric engines commonly used in F-16 aircraft . Working in close collaboration with other maintenance team members, the technician oversees both routine and complex tasks, diagnosing issues and implementing repairs that meet strict military and safety standards. Attention to detail, adherence to technical manuals, and commitment to quality assurance are critical to success in this role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Oversight/Training/Instructing host nation in the following: • Routine and non-routine inspections of F-16 aircraft engines, identifying issues or areas requiring attention. • Scheduled maintenance, including troubleshooting, removing, and installing engine components. • Utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment to assess engine conditions and analyze engine performance. • Repairing and replacing worn or damaged components, such as turbine blades, bearings, and seals, ensuring compliance with technical specifications. • Maintaining detailed records of work performed, including inspection and maintenance logs, and report findings to ensure accurate documentation. • Adhering to all safety protocols and technical manuals during maintenance procedures to ensure personnel safety and equipment functionality. • Collaborating with other technicians and engineers to discuss solutions for complex mechanical or technical issues. • Staying up-to-date on F-16 engine technologies, tools, and best practices by participating in ongoing training and professional development. • Supporting pre- and post-flight engine checks, ensuring engine readiness and addressing last-minute maintenance needs. Work Conditions Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment. Physical Requirements • Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs , including up and down stairs. • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. • Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Qualifications Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required . • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance. • In order to obtain a secret clearance, qualified candidates must have US Citizenship. • Ability to pass physical screening requirements. Education and/or Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s or technical degree in aircraft maintenance or a related field is preferred. • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience working with military turbine engines, ideally on F-16 engines. • Extensive hands-on experience with Pratt & Whitney or General Electric engines for the F-16 aircraft . • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, maintenance software, and technical manuals for turbine engines. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. • Strong understanding of safety standards and procedures for working with military aircraft . • Certification through a relevant military or civilian aviation authority (e.g., FAA, A&P) is highly desirable. • USAF 7 – Level skill or equivalent. <p>To install, assemble, align, and complete Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, generators, and auxiliary mechanical equipment safely and accurately. To ensure all installation and alignment work meets OEM specifications, project quality standards, and HSE requirements. To support mechanical completion, inspection, commissioning, and punch-list clearance activities.</p><p>Install and assemble Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment. Perform precision alignment of rotating equipment using laser alignment and conventional methods. Install bearings, couplings, seals, diaphragms, casings, valves, and piping connections. Carry out dimensional checks, equipment elevation, centerline, and tolerance verification as per OEM requirements. Assist with turbine casing assembly, rotor installation, rotor coupling, and turning gear installation. Perform flange assembly and controlled bolting/hydraulic torqueing. Conduct inspection, flushing, preservation, and mechanical completion activities. Support commissioning and mechanical run-test activities when required. <p>Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and services on all types of military and commercial generators and HVAC systems used by the U.S. Army to include the 150kW EPP III generators.</p><p>As a Generator and HVAC Mechanic, the work you ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Worldwide Field Support contract for the U.S. Army. You ll play a crucial role in providing on-site technical and maintenance assistance, analyzing complex technical problems, and providing training to site operations and maintenance personnel.</p><p>Perform maintenance and sustainment support on 3kW to 150kW, 500 0hz generators involving installation and removal of generators from fixed and mobile locations, troubleshoots and repair alternating current (AC) systems, direct current (DC) systems, electronic control systems and other program logic controls, electrical wiring and accessories. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, Chillers, and Environmental Control Units some are standalone units and others are mounted on trailers and vehicles. Maintain all types of commercial power generation equipment; military spec generators and Uninterrupted Power Systems (UPS). Operate a Load bank during testing Fabricate wire harnesses and solder terminals. Some work will be in a generator shop environment, and some work will be in a field environment. <h4>Working and living conditions:</h4>
<p>This position may be located in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to CENTCOM, EUCOM, and AFRICOM for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 10 hours per day, while some jobs have higher daily and weekly minimums.</p></p><p></p>

You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization s core values.</p><p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Dismantle, assemble, move and align, machinery and equipment using: hoists, cranes, chain falls, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, micrometers, rules, squares, plumb bobs, dial indicators and/or laser alignment equipment</li><li>Read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures</li><li>Responsible for shipping and receiving all major pieces for T&DC, plus all shipping, receiving, inventory, and control of tools, equipment and supplies</li><li>Perform material and machine inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenches</li><li>Perform machining and welding operations for making various parts for lab and shop training equipment</li><li>Determine equipment specifications and prepare parts lists for purchasing, consisting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic devices as needed to complete assigned projects</li><li>Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies and perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs as needed</li><li>Read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures</li><li>Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in industrial establishments</li><li>Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum of one (1) years experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines</li><li>Valid Driver s License</li></ul><p>Preferred:</p><ul><li>Degree/Associate Degree in Technical Field or Gas Turbine Systems</li></ul><p>Desired Characteristics:</p><ul><li>Ability to disassemble and reassemble complex rotating equipment</li><li>Bolting, Hydraulic Bolting, Flange Management, Small Bore Piping, Basic Rigging/Lifting, O/H Crane Operator</li><li>Proficient in the following: mechanical/technical skills, oral communications skills, Critical Thinking</li><li>Manage time-sensitive tasks and maintain a schedule within operationally challenging environments.</li><li>Must work well both independently and in a team environment.</li></ul>
