<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>Ensure all welding activities are performed in compliance with project specifications, approved procedures, applicable codes, and company requirements. Review and approve WPSs, PQRs, and welder qualification records. Monitor field welding activities, including fit-up, welding parameters, consumables, heat input, and workmanship. Coordinate with Construction, QC, NDE, Contractors, and Vendors to ensure quality execution of welding activities. Support welding qualification, testing, inspection, and audit activities at fabrication yards and construction sites. Review and assist in the resolution of Technical Queries (TQs), Deviation Requests (DRs), and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Assess contractor welding performance and identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvements. Ensure welding traceability, documentation, and records are maintained for project quality dossiers. Promote HSE compliance and safe welding practices across all work fronts. Provide regular reporting on welding performance, issues, and risks to project management.</p></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><h2>Qualifications</h2>Engineering degree in a relevant discipline or International Welding Engineer (IWE/IIW) qualification. Minimum 20 years of Oil & Gas project experience. Minimum 10 years in a Welding Engineer or similar role. Strong knowledge of API 1104, ASME, DNV, and other relevant welding standards. Proven experience with welding procedures, qualifications, and field supervision activities. Solid understanding of pipeline, flowline, piping, and structural welding. Experience working on large-scale EPC or construction projects in the Oil & Gas industry. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Fluent English communication skills; Arabic language skills are advantageous. Willingness to work on a 4x4 rotational assignment in Iraq<p></p></section>

record all welding activities on a daily basis.</li><li>Conduct routine inspections in fabrication areas, pipe racks, vessel installation zones, and field welding locations.</li><li>Verify that welding activities follow approved procedures and are performed by qualified welders.</li><li>Verify the contractor s daily welding reports and associated databases</li><li>Review weekly trends of weld acceptance / rejection.</li><li>Provide daily update and weekly reporting directly to the CPF2 Site QC Superintendent, covering: inspection progress and key findings, non-conformities and Piping</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure weld joints are correctly identified and belong to the proper line/system before welding.</li><li>Align with QC Piping on fit-up release, ITP hold/witness points, and readiness for welding.</li><li>Provide QC Piping with weld traceability information (weld numbers, WPS, welder IDs).</li><li>Support QC Piping during system walkdowns for weld-related verifications.</li><li>Deliver welding documentation required for piping test packs and Mechanical Completion dossiers.</li><li>Communicate welding issues that may impact piping installation sequence or system readiness.</li><li>Verify weld-related punch items are addressed before required turnover and confirm welding readiness prior to hydrotest.</li></ul><p><strong>Documentation & Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Review and comment on welding procedures (WPS), PQR, and welder qualifications.</li><li>Ensure proper implementation of approved drawings, welding plans, and experience in Welding QC on major Oil & Gas EPC projects.</li><li>Strong experience with piping, pressure vessels, and valves welding.</li><li>Experience on CPF, refinery, or large industrial facilities strongly preferred.</li></ul><p><strong>Technical competencies:</strong></p><ul><li>Solid knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and fabrication techniques.</li><li>Strong understanding of ASME IX, ASME B31.3, API standards.</li><li>Ability to interpret isometrics, welding drawings, WPS/PQR/WPQ documentation.</li><li>Knowledge of weld repair techniques and metallurgical constraints.</li><li>Understanding of NCR, deviation, and concession processes.</li><li>Familiarity with digital QC systems (Aconex, SharePoint, SmartPlant, etc.) is a plus.</li></ul><p><strong>Behavioral competencies:</strong></p><ul><li>Exemplary behavior regarding Company Code of Conduct and HSSE rules.
