Job Title: Lead Process Safety Engineer<br> Department / Function: Maintenance & Engineering <br> Duration: 12 months renewable<br> Location: Basra, Iraq<br> Rotation: 28/28<br><strong>Role Synopsis</strong><br>An outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join an exciting division. This role will have the opportunity to contribute in a positive way to help build a sustainable future for the client and the people of Iraq. The Lead Process Safety Engineer (LPSE) will be a member of the Central Engineering Team reporting into the Process Safety Team Lead (PSTL). The LPSE will provide deep process safety engineering expertise and judgment in service of the operation and development of the Rumaila field. The LPSE shall work closely with Projects and Area Operations to ensure efficient handover of all issues that require process safety engineering input to resolve.<br>The incumbent is expected to assist the PSTL with the Process Safety programme for the Rumaila Operation and help champion all aspects of good Process Safety management in an aging oilfield.<br> <br><strong>Key Accountabilities</strong><br><ul><li>Promote a culture of process safety and continuous improvement.</li><li>Assist the PSTL with the nationalisation program and support professional development of Iraqi nationals.</li><li>Provides process safety engineering expertise to support the wider organisation through engineering guidance and by performing and reviewing complex, or non-routine process safety engineering calculations, risk assessment and analyses.</li><li>Provides process safety engineering expertise to EQs, MoCs and Projects including coordination with Production / Operations/ Maintenance staff to identify / prioritise engineering activities.</li><li>Provide assurance on process safety engineering compliance with applicable Standards, Specifications, Codes and Regulations within organisation and 3rd Ensure that non-conformities and temporary deviations are identified and assessed.</li><li>Perform / review risk and consequence analysis and where required coach others on the use of risk analysis and consequence modelling techniques such as QRA, FERA, Explosion Modelling, Fire and Gas Mapping using industry standard software such as PHAST</li><li>Where required facilitate and participate in process safety design reviews and safety studies such as HAZOP and HAZID/ENVID.</li><li>Working knowledge of functional safety concepts and the application of industry standards e.g. IEC61508/11, in design and operational phases.</li><li>Ensures critical process safety documentation and information, e.g. Bowtie diagrams are kept up to date.</li><li>Assists with the reviews of the impact of emerging risks.</li><li>Communicates process safety engineering lessons learned and encourages a culture of sharing experience and continuous improvement.</li><li>Where required, provides process safety engineering expertise in performing incident investigations and defect investigations.</li><li>Provides process safety engineering expertise to delivery of regional actions. Leads on resolution of complex, multi-discipline technical issues where the dominant component is process safety related.</li></ul><strong>Essential Education</strong><br>Degree / diploma qualified engineer or equivalent work experience. BSc, BEng or MEng (UK), BSc (US), or international equivalent in Chemical / Process Engineering or other relevant engineering subject.<br>Professional accreditation, such as Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer.<br><strong>Essential experience and job requirements</strong><br>At least 15 years industry experience with 5 years in international multicultural operational roles across the full value chain of hydrocarbon and water production facilities. Experience in brownfield operations process safety engineering, reliability, modifications and strong technical leadership with influencing capabilities. <br>An ability to work effectively with other disciplines / teams to understand and assess complex issues and develop pragmatic solutions.<br>Proven ability in practical application of engineering standards and practices for process safety engineering. <p><h4>Duties</h4>
<p>Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.<br>
Ensure Property Department compliance with Property Management and Control Procedures.<br>
Conduct random compliance audits on all sites and departments in Iraq.<br>
Develop and execute corrective action plans for audit deficiencies and inventory accountable property.<br>
Mentor lower-level Property Staff and custodians in proper process and procedures as they relate to Government Property.<br>
Identify problem areas and recommend viable solutions.<br>
Perform physical inventories of Government Furnished Property (GFP) and Contractor Acquired Property (CAP), as directed by the Property Management and Control Procedures and/or the Logistics and Property Manager.<br>
Ensure Government Property Identification numbers (GP) are properly assigned, prepare required schedule, and assist with identifying lost, damaged, and destroyed property as well as excessive consumption.<br>
Work closely with Property Custodians to ensure overall accountability of assets.<br>
Track and record movement of all types of Government property. This includes movement from one point to another within a contractor’s facility, movement between facilities for any purpose, and protection during movement.<br>
Conduct country-wide Property Training on a yearly basis as well as establish training plans for new hire employees and refresher training.<br>
Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Statement of Work (SOW), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).<br>
Develop processes and desktop procedures to maintain continuity of job performance.<br>
Audit logs and status records to ensure completion of lost, damaged, or destroyed items.<br>
Check LTDD packages for accuracy and completion.<br>
Perform additional duties and projects as qualified to perform as assigned.<br>

<p>Overview ***This position is physically located in Balad, Iraq*** Under the supervision of the Firefighter Crew Chiefs, the Firefighter responds to multiple-types of emergencies operating as a firefighter. Maintains vehicles, equipment, tools, and protective clothing in a serviceable condition. Extinguish fires and takes precautions to prevent fire rekindling. Operates pumps, foam generators, turrets, nozzles, and other firefighting tools and equipment. Exercises caution to avoid personal injury and property damage and comply with strict health and safety standards. At the site of a fire protects and preserves evidence indicating the cause of the fire. Properly wears personal protective clothing. Conducts and take part in frequent reoccurring proficiency training, OJT and maintains required certifications. Performs other duties as assigned. Analyze and provide reporting related actual condition of project construction activities in order to manage the project activities in a good manner. Analyze the reliability of contractor’s project planning, monitor project activities status through coordination with related parties project planning activities in order to ensure the project activities are implemented as per approved schedule.
