<p>Basrah Oil Company (BOC) is undertaking the Iraq Common Seawater Supply Project (CSSP) to provide treated seawater to the oil fields in southern Iraq for injection. Phase 1 capacity will produce 5.0 million barrels of water per day (MMBWPD), with a subsequent full buildout phase of 7.5 MMBWPD (5 MMBWPD phase 1 plus 2.5 MMBWPD). <p>The mechanical & piping construction supervisor is responsible for supervising field construction activities across mechanical and piping scopes within brownfield/greenfield project environments. The role ensures safe execution, constructability alignment, productivity improvement, and coordinated delivery of construction work fronts. The supervisor works closely with multi-discipline teams to meet project objectives for HSSE, cost, schedule, and quality.</p>

<h4>Job purpose</h4>
<p>The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSE regulations. The role involves supervising construction teams, subcontractors, and day-to-day site operations with a primary focus on flowlines, mechanical works, and piping systems in the oil and gas sector.</p>

<h4>Key job responsibilities</h4>
<ul>
<li>Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities related to flowlines, mechanical installations, material and piping systems.</li>
<li>Ensure work is carried out in strict compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and applicable codes/standards.</li>
<li>Monitor daily work progress and report to the Construction Manager on project status, delays, and resource requirements.</li>
<li>Manage and supervise construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient and quality workmanship.</li>
<li>Review and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, piping layouts, and mechanical installation drawings.</li>
<li>Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and quality control teams to resolve technical issues and ensure material availability.</li>
<li>Conduct quality inspections on welding, piping fabrication, pressure testing, and mechanical installations.</li>
<li>Ensure proper documentation and reporting of site activities, including daily reports, inspection records, and progress photos.</li>
<li>Identify potential risks and implement corrective actions to prevent project delays or safety incidents.</li>
<li>Participate in site walk-downs, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities as required.</li>

<h4>Experience</h4>
<p>Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction field. Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil industry and a deep understanding of regulations. Experienced pipeline construction supervisor in onshore greenfield and brownfield projects with a very good knowledge of rules, procedures and international codes and standards. Team player with ability to work collaboratively across complex project teams and interface between interdisciplinary departments and within an international team.</p>
