<p><h4>Job description</h4>
<p>The non-destruction inspection technician (NDI) II inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis.</p>
<p>Determine test method and prepare fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection.<br>
Interpret nondestructive inspection test results and provide information about defects to repair center.<br>
Analyze wear metal content reports on engine lubricating oil and other fluids and recommend corrective action.<br>
Establish radiation areas for radiographic operations.<br>
Compute and monitor personal exposure areas for radiographic operations, and monitor personnel exposure data.<br>
Perform nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems.<br>
Detect flaws such as cracks, delaminations, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant testing, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment.<br>
Determine metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors.<br>
Operate, maintain, and inspect nondestructive equipment.<br>
Perform operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools.<br>
Ensure lock out and tag out procedures are accomplished prior to maintenance on equipment.<br>
Perform silver recovery functions.<br>
Handle and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.<br>

<h4>Minimum requirements</h4>
<p>High school diploma or equivalent required.<br>
U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required.<br>
Completion of an initial nondestructive inspection level II training course and current basic qualification.<br>
Three (3) or more years’ experience as an aviation inspector and a minimum of one year experience on the assigned (MDS) airframe (UH60, AH64, CH47).<br>
Shall be trained and qualified per NAS 410 or ASNT-CP-189 to the level assigned.<br>
Must be in possession of a U.S. passport with 3 years of validity remaining at the time of hire and be able to travel internationally.<br>
Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance, NAC-I T1 public trust. US citizenship is required to obtain a T1/CAC NACI clearance.<br>
Able to clear CENTCOM medical requirements for deployment.<br>
Ability to obtain and maintain Iraq visa.</p>
<h4>Knowledge and skills</h4>

<li>Participates in the planning and evaluation of exercises to ensure that logistics / supply support concepts are responsive to operational needs. Makes recommendations for improvements where necessary to increase the effectiveness of support required.</li>
<li>Determines the need for, prepares, and conducts individual and group training, as required, on areas of interest within the logistics / supply area.</li>
<li>Prepares correspondence on a daily basis on a variety of logistics / supply related issues as may be required.</li>
<li>As directed, performs a variety of warehousing duties, which require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.</li>
<li>Verifies materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.</li>
<li>Stores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.</li>
<li>May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.</li>
<li>Performs miscellaneous quality assurance duties including inspections, inventory process checks, inspecting and examining materials, article inspections, etc.</li>
<li>Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.</li>

<h4>Minimum position knowledge, skills, and abilities required</h4>
<p>Vocational / technical training beyond high school and at least 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent.</p>
<h4>Work environment, physical demands, and mental demands</h4>
<p>Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech / hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning / organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.</p>
