<p>Job specification:
The postholder plays a critical role in the readiness of Canines. He/She is the lead in overseeing canine operations, and ensuring K9 readiness, compliance with MOI K9 Training & Evaluation Directorate and aviation security standards, and effective deployment of K9 teams to check points for screening and patrols where required. The post holder works directly for the Head of the K9 Unit in managing the daily operations, canine logistics, and closely with the K9 Training Team in ensuring that all handlers and K9s are fully trained, certified and operationally effective. He/She works with the Unit Veterinarian in overseeing canine welfare, daily nutrition and daily kenneling activities. Finally, to support the Head of K9 Unit in liaising with regulatory authorities and ensuring compliance with the MOI Directorate of Training & Evaluation with Veterinary and Technical compliance standards required for certification, through drills, exercises and evaluations.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
a) Operational Oversight :
• Supervise daily activities of K9 handlers and dogs across EDD and NDD teams.
• Plan and coordinate deployment schedules for detection operations across all checkpoints.
• Coordinate with airport security, and where necessary customs, and law enforcement for joint operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards.
• Ensure optimal rotation and rest schedules for dogs and handlers.
b) Training & Development Support :
• Coordinate schedules with the K9 Training staff for regular training sessions for EDD and NDD teams, including simulated threat scenarios.
• Work with the K9 Training Staff to evaluate performance and readiness of K9 teams.
• Implement continuous improvement strategies for detection accuracy.
• Work with the Head of K9 Unit and the K9 Training staff to implement corrective training plans and maintain certification standards.
c) Translation & Liaison Duties :
• Translate operational briefings, SOPs, incident reports, and communications between multilingual teams.
• Act as liaison and facilitate communication between international management/supervisors, local handlers, and airport authorities.
• Ensure accurate real-time interpretation during joint operations, inspections, audits and emergency responses.
d) Canine Welfare & Logistics :
• Ensure proper nutrition, rest, and psychological well-being of dogs.
• Monitor health, nutrition, and veterinary care schedules of all canine assets.
• Coordinate with procurement for replenishment and upgrades.
e) Administrative & Reporting :
• Prepare mission reports, incident logs, and performance reviews.
• Assist Head of K9 Unit in budget planning and procurement for K9 operations.
f) Compliance & Policy Enforcement & Documentation :
• Enforce SOPs are related to canine deployment, search protocols, and handler conduct.
• Ensure adherence to international standards for detection dog use.
• Monitor legal and ethical guidelines in narcotics and explosives detection.
• Ensure adherence to Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, MOI and international K9 deployment standards.

g) Emergency Response & Incident Management :
• Lead K9 response during bomb threats, suspicious packages, or narcotics interceptions.
• Liaise with emergency services and provide translated briefings during crises.
• Document and debrief all incidents for legal and operational review.</p><p>Education

<p><h4>Job description</h4>
<p>The operations manager will be based at one of the three Amentum sites in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for taking ownership of all site operational responsibilities to include directing the daily performance of the organization, planning, scheduling and training processes to meet the requirements of the contract. This position will report to the OMSS program manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.</p>

<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>The Horizontal Foreman will be based at Baghdad Embassy Compound (BEC) Amentum site in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for managing the daily work assignments of Material Handling and Heavy Equipment Operations and will report to the Operations and Maintenance Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.</p><p>DUTIES:</p><ul><li>Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.</li><li>Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.</li><li>Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.</li><li>Provide oversight of all material handling and heavy equipment support operations.</li><li>Primary responsibilities will be the safety and professional operations of a daily multi-national workforce and ensuring that all work requests are completed.</li><li>Schedule daily work assignments of personnel.</li><li>Review work orders and support requests to determine safety requirements, permitting, and equipment needs.</li><li>Manage all work order activity to ensure that all work is properly documented and submitted for recording.</li><li>Provide reports and data - both required and ad hoc.</li><li>Ensure adequate supplies and materials are ordered for department.</li><li>Ensure personnel are properly trained in equipment operation.</li><li>Monitor and evaluate performance of personnel.</li><li>Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.</li></ul></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><ul><li>Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: Two (2) years experience with Horizontal Earthwork and Material Handling Equipment including forklifts, cranes, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, and semi-tractor trucks.</li><li>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li>Good time management skills and able to multi-task using various types of cranes and rigging gear.</li><li>Knowledge of proper loading techniques and forklift weight capacities.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, stoop, and climb in and around construction type equipment and work in adverse climatic conditions.</li><li>Ability to coordinate and complete basic Transportation Movement Request (TMR).</li><li>Prior experience in working with a multi-national workforce</li><li>Ability to extract information to produce reports.</li><li>Ability to communicate with a wide variety of colleagues and customers.</li><li>Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.</li><li>Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.</li><li>Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.</li><li>Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.</li><li>Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.</li></ul></li><li>Education: A high school diploma or GED.</li><li>Passport, Licenses and Certifications: As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts , candidates must possess a valid passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages.</li><li>Valid drivers license from Home of Record.</li><li>Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance or Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or be able to obtain a favorable MRPT certification or US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. <p>Provides leadership and management to AMBP s guard force the ensuring the effective provision of security to facilities resident sand stakeholders. Regularly assesses and performance manages his team the guard force at AMBP; identifying any gaps in an individual s capability and providing relevant training to help them improve. Provides training and mentoring to the local guard force as specified by Control Risks and the AMBP hierarchy commensurate with the minimum standards required and exceeding them wherever possible. Ensures that the guard force at AMBP comply with Control Risks policies such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Voluntary Principles on Human Rights. Enforces minimum standards in all security duties including static guarding, access control, communications procedures and weapon handling. Records the allocation of resources to the local guard force and ensures these are well maintained and used effectively. Implements and maintains accurate training records for employees. Acts as advisor on all aspects of security to the AMBP hierarchy, where appropriate. Identifies non-compliance with Control Risks and / or Client s policies and procedures and escalates through management appropriately. Assesses the security situation as it applied to the Client s sites and areas of operations and works with the regional management team to make recommendations in line with the current intelligence and analysis. Identifies the conditions that will influence the physical safety of the Client s personnel and their operations and liaises with the management team in order to aid strategic operational decision-making.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Minimum 5 years Military or Policing experience. Minimum 2 years hostile environment experience. Experience of managing local national personnel in a hostile environment. Experience of working in a client facing role in a hostile environment. Demonstrable understanding of Control Risks organisational policies and SOPs. Fluency in English Language (CEFR C2 or equivalent).
